MUSEUM B-S 4
We are authentic Museum of pre-war Czecholovak Republic and its masterpieces fortification system built during only three years before a foot of Adolf Hitler stand on Czechoslovak grounds and began the second World War.
The Czechoslovak fortification Museum was opened in 2011 and has prided itself on remaining free for all the time. The aim of the museum is to educate visitors in the fortification subject, our pre-war history, and the situation short before the Second World War. Our museum is a voluntary project which was created as the initiative of longtime friends.
The fortification museum in the historic rooms of the pre-war bunker keep at bunker B-S 4 bear witness to the history of the fortress and everyday life at the fortress. Steel loop holes, massive concrete walls and original air cleaning system can be admired as well as objects that no fortress can do without: weapons and special fortress weapon systems, fortress turets, ammunition, storage rooms, uniforms and things of soldiers everyday use. A completely arranged fortress bathroom, sleeping rooms and the commander’s office room offer insight into the past.
What’s in the collections?
The Museum collection comprise original parts of the bunker accessories and devices, including weaponry, special weapon systems, fortress turets, and other military material from the years between 1920-1938. Also they cover all four essential chapters of the bunkers history (1920-1938; 1938-1945; 1945-1970; 1970-1989). (Have a look at the B-S 4 project)

- Sheets with projections of maps, tactics and blueprints
- Original bunker accessories like air system, water well, bathroom and toilets devices, bedrooms, storage rooms
- Protective component like heavy armour doors, massive loop holes
- Collections of medals, belts types, uniforms, helmets
- Collection of all ammunition types for fortress weapons
- Items that soldiers used to use in every day life in the bunker

How to find us:
You can find us on the Vienna road, almost near the border with Austria. The best way of transport is by a vehicle or by a bicycle on bike path.
Traveling by a vehicle: If you travel by a vehicle, you will be driving along the Vienna road and coming towards the state border. On the right side you will see a large parking lot for vehicles with our board. Park your vehicle here and directional signs will steer you further. From the parking lot you will be walking away about 5 minutes. Just follow the cycle path and boards. You can study the map at the end of this section for a better orientation.
Traveling by a bicycle: If you go by bike from ,,Petržalka“, the route is the same as with the vehicle (see paragraph above). If you’re going to visit us from the center of Bratislava, it is ideal for you to pass Lafranconi SNP Bridge by bicycle and continue along the signed paths to our area. For a better orientation a map with marked bike path is attached.
